How can I be involved?
The public participation goal for Midtown District Plan is to partner with residents, businesses, employers, and civic leaders in each aspect of the planning including the development of alternatives and the identification of the preferred direction for the district. The promise to the public is to ask for your direct advice and innovation in formulating solutions and incorporating your advice and recommendations into the decisions.
Public Participation Objectives
• Inclusive – reach out to involve parties with a stake in the future of the area. An effort will be make to include residents with limited English proficiency.
• Efficient – recognize that people are busy, so contacts with the community will be focused and productive.
• Data Driven – provide solid objective information that will assist people in understanding options and trends, and to make informed choices.
• Based on Local Knowledge – select membership of committees and focus groups to function as sounding board for ideas, and ultimately to be effective advocates for plan policies.
• Innovative – make meetings enjoyable and rewarding so people want to stay involved.
